THE 4TH TRANSMISSION PIPELINE MIDLINE COMPRESSOR STATION PROJECT



Project Summary

Client PTT Public Company Limited. Contractor China Petroleum Pipeline Bureau Duration 2015 – 2017 PTT Public Company Limited (PTT) undertook the Fourth Transmission Pipeline Midline Compressor Station (FTP MCS) Project at Khao Hin Son, Phanom Sarakham, Chacheongsao in order to increase the pressure and flow rate of gas inside Fourth Transmission Pipeline to supply gas to end users. The objective of the Compressor Station is to transmit gas from Block Valve 4.09 to Block Valve 4.10 The scope of works includes the installation of a new compressor station and tie-in to the existing Fourth Transmission Pipeline system.

Key Challenge

It was a requirement from Owner for the Main Control Building in the Forth Transmission Midline Compressor Station to be LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Certified, which is recognized as a symbol for Sustainability Achievement. Furthermore, it was very challenging for IBCI to implement Wireless Control of Electrical System to be compliance to KNX Standard (Worldwide STANDARD for Home and Building Control), which is a future proof for various international standards such as ISO/IEC 14543-3, EN 50090, EN 13321-1, EN1332-2, GB/T 20965 and ANSI/ASHRAE 135. During the Tie-in work of the Project, it was very challenging for our Engineering and Operation team to complete the work within 46 days only.

Scope of Work

  • Engineering, Procurement and Construction of the Main Control Building
  • Main Civil Work and Site Preparation including landscape work for all project areas
  • Equipment Installation
  • Fabrication and Installation of approximately 2,000 Tons of Structural Steel
  • Installation of Electrical and Instrumentation Work
  • Pre-commissioning, and assist during commissioning
  • Fabrication and erection main pipeline 42”, Painting, Hydrostatic Test and NDE
  • Installation and Inspection of Golden weld to Tie-in point 01 and Tie-in point 02
  • Engineering design for pipeline 42” and foundation of Tie-in area
  • Excavation and backfill to Tie-in 01 and 02
  • Preparation of Civil Work & Infrastructure for Tie-in
  • Fabrication and Erection Operation Platform
  • Installation of Grounding, Lighting and Cathodic Protection System.
